Patty Hearst Shares Award With Dog

Weird News

In the UK, where they treat pets right...

Patricia Hearst: Heiress, hostage, bank robber,
bride of her bodyguard, recipient of a coveted
Jimmy Carter sentence commutation, and the
somewhat ubiquitous Bill Clinton Presidential
Pardon, cover girl of both TIME and Newsweek
magazines, and celebrated paramilitary careerist,
(Symbionese Liberation Army, Ret.), along with
her trembling French bulldog, Diva, share a
well-deserved award at the Westminster dog show.

As her grand-dad said...

"Show me a magazine with a woman, a dog,
or a baby on the cover, and I'll show you a
magazine that sells."

-- William Randolph Hearst

Toy Rental For Your Kids - Baby Plays

Weird News

Toy Rental For Your Kids

What if you didn't have to shop for toys, just pay a
moderate bill and they send you the latest and
greatest toys, just like Netflix does for movies?

What if?

Well, it's not "if," it's now. Baby Plays, the er, brainchild
of Lori Pope, is a new firm that rents toys, four or six per
month, to parents.

(Pa rents, ma rents, that's how it works.)

Go one better - Rent me both the child and toys,
so I can return 'em when the crying starts, and
you got a deal.

Weird News - Primordial Ooze

"From that fateful day, when stinking bits of slime first crawled from the sea, and shouted to the cold stars, "I am Man," our greatest dread has always been the knowledge of our own mortality.

But tonight, we shall hurl the gauntlet of Science into the frightful face of Death itself. Tonight, we shall ascend into the heavens. We shall mock the earthquake.

We shall command the thunders, and penetrate, into the very womb, of impervious nature...herself."

-- Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks, "Young Frankenstein," 1974

Ooze and Oz not withstanding, here's the News, all you can use, unless you choose to refuse, and some of it's gonna be weird...
